WHAT IS TENDONITIS?
Tendonitis is inflammation of the tendon caused by repetitive, minor impact on the affected area. The most common form of tendonitis in hand is wrist tendonitis, which is pain and swelling around the wrist.
• Risk of tendonitis increases with age
Signs and Symptoms:
• Pain and minor swelling of the site of the tendon and surrounding area
• Anti-inflammatory medication
• Steroid injections
If you do not have relief from the nonsurgical treatments, your orthopedic provider may discuss surgery. The tendon that causes painful and difficult tendon movements can be released.
