MASSAGE THERAPIST – HOLLY FISHER
Holly Fisher is a licensed massage therapist. She received her therapeutic massage training in Charlottesville VA. For over the last 20 years she has preferred to work in medical environments, working with both patients and other clientele. She has travelled and practiced around the country but is happy to be back at the crystal coast.
In addition to doing the basic Swedish and Deep Tissue Massages Holly has found that Cranial Sacral Therapy and Myofascial Release are extremely beneficial in the Orthopedic environment.
CranioSacral Therapy (CST) is a gentle, hands-on approach that releases tensions deep in the body to relieve pain and dysfunction and improve whole-body health and performance. It was pioneered and developed by Osteopathic Physician John E. Upledger after years of clinical testing and research at Michigan State University where he served as professor of biomechanics.
Using a soft touch which is generally no greater than 5 grams – about the weight of a nickel – practitioners release restrictions in the soft tissues that surround the central nervous system. CST is increasingly used as a preventive health measure for its ability to bolster resistance to disease, and it”s effective for a wide range of medical problems associated with pain and dysfunction.
Myofascial release (MFR) therapy focuses on releasing muscular shortness and tightness. There are a number of conditions and symptoms that myofascial release therapy addresses.
Many patients seek myofascial treatment after losing flexibility or function following an injury or if experiencing ongoing back, shoulder, hip, or virtually pain in any area containing soft tissue.
Other techniques practiced by Holly include Hot Stone Massage, Thai Foot Massage, Pregnancy Massage and Visceral Manipulation.
Holly is thrilled to have the opportunity to work with Moore Orthopedics Sports Medicine. The entire staff is amazing and wonderful to work with. When she is not working she strives to live life to the fullest spending time with family and friends on the water.
