Carissa was born and raised in Cutchogue, New York and graduated from Mattituck High School in 1996. She attended Quinnipiac University in Connecticut and graduated in 2000 with a Bachelor of Science Degree and then earned a Master of Physical Therapy degree in 2002. Carissa then returned to Long Island and worked in outpatient physical therapy for 5 years treating a diverse patient population including geriatrics, neurologic impairments and sports injuries while supervising the therapy clinic.
Carissa then attended Stony Brook University on Long Island where she earned her Doctorate of Physical Therapy degree in 2008. She then moved down to Morehead City, NC and gained further orthopedic experience. In 2014, Carissa joined the team of Moore Sports Therapy where she treats a variety of orthopedic conditions and specializes in joint replacement therapy. Her goal in providing therapy is to help restore optimal function and allow patient’s to return to the activities they enjoy.
